To get a successful UPSC result, you need to be at your best. Since IAS job requirements are vast so the syllabus and study are. You are supposed to remember everything that you study because questions can be asked from anywhere in the exam. The depth of the syllabus is also a never-ending tunnel. 

An IAS officer goes through many extraordinary situations during his/her tenure. Additionally, there is corruption in our country which erodes our society from within and makes our officer’s life very hard. Political pressure is also a challenge which they face in their day to day life. Working in such an environment is not a cakewalk and if you dream of becoming an IAS officer then you need to have a very strong mindset. You should not crack under any pressure. If their responsibilities are given to normal people then you could understand the outcome. Therefore, UPSC exams are one of the toughest exams to crack. However, with consistent efforts, it can be cracked. 

Prepare like an IAS 

The strong mindset is very much required well before you crack the UPSC exam. Your mindset is a leading factor that decides the outcome. You should think like an IAS officer even if you are preparing. This helps you to understand the mindset of an IAS officer. You should focus on character building right from the start. If you are a parent and want your children to prepare for the UPSC exam then set the right kind of example. Encourage them to be part of society and let them participate in social events as well. Giving a space helps them to learn faster. 

You should have the innate values of society to become an IAS officer. Students belonging from a Defense background or civil services background always have an upper hand but that is not true all the time. It depends on the students whether he learns those values form his family or her family or he/she wants to learn by himself/herself. But without values and officer-like quality which is also called OLQ in defense terms, it’s hard to clear the UPSC exam.

It will give you an insight into how a person should be to qualify the IAS exam. You could also take the help of the IAS coaching institutes in India. Though it’s not necessary that you should opt for coaching for all the subjects if you are weak in a particular subject then you could also take coaching. 

IAS coaching also helps to build your character and they inculcate values in you. However, choosing good coaching is tough.
