It would be an understatement to say that 2020 has been a crazy year and none of us have ever seen anything like it. Sadly for so many businesses they have been forced to close their doors owing to the global lockdown. Whilst the lockdown kept our health services from becoming overwhelmed and kept many of us safe, it is clear that it has been highly damaging for so many companies, and the death knell for some. If you had been dreaming of starting your own business then you may think that now would be the time to give up that dream, but you’d be wrong.
Just as businesses expert William West Seegmiller has been discussing lately, now in fact could be the perfect time for you to start that business.
This has been an extremely tough year for many businesses and sadly a great deal of them will find themselves having to close if they have not done so already. Whilst this is not a good thing for businesses, business owners or indeed the economy, it is clear that this is going to give opportunities to people like you who are thinking about setting up your own business. Premises will be available and customers will be awaiting new businesses.
Again as a result of these closures, we are also going to see goods for sale cheaply which have come from closed businesses including store infrastructure. We will also see high-quality staff available for companies who have sadly lost their jobs. This is not about taking advantage of the situation, this is about a sad situation which is going to present an opportunity, if you do not take it then someone else is going to. If you think about the purchasing of equipment from failed businesses, you will actually be doing them a favor in buying their surplus, and just remember it wasn’t you who put them out of business in the first place.
Whilst it hasn’t been announced yet we can certainly expect some level of government incentives to new business owners. The world economy desperately needs to be reopened and to start moving again. In their efforts to do this during a recession we often see governments look to incentivize small businesses with tax breaks and that could mean that getting your business set up will come at a lower cost than if you had done so last year for example.
If this pandemic has taught us anything it is that we have just one life, so we may as well live it. Instead of not setting up that business and then being regretful for not doing so, take this opportunity to see what success you can find. This is the time to take the bull by the horns and launch your very first business venture, and there has never been a better time for you to do so.
